A Father–Son Legacy
MEA was founded by Miguel "Eddie" Avila, who grew the company from superintendent and painting work into a respected NYC contractor through persistence and above-and-beyond service to tenants and owners. Starting with hands-on work in building maintenance and painting, Eddie built MEA's reputation one project at a time, always prioritizing quality and client relationships.
Eddie's son, Nicholas Avila, now leads MEA as COO, continuing his father's legacy while expanding into new markets, architects, and designers throughout NYC. Nicholas worked alongside his father and another high-end contractor, gaining deep experience in high-end renovations before stepping into leadership around 2017–2019. Under his guidance, MEA has grown to serve a diverse range of clients while maintaining the personal touch and attention to detail that defined the company from the start.
This father–son partnership brings together decades of hands-on experience with modern project management and client communication. The result is a company that understands both the craft of construction and the importance of creating spaces that truly serve how clients live and work.
Today, MEA operates from the Upper East Side, serving Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and select NYC suburbs. The company remains committed to Eddie's original values: quality workmanship, honest communication, and genuine care for every client and every project.
